Conundrum In Deed began in 2009 as collaboration between psychedelic
songster Greg Shields and prog-rock aficionado and pianist Michael
Sadler. Henry Green (Gamble Street) and Dan Berrebi (dbClifford) joined
them in 2011, playing well-known venues around London. A string of successful shows attracted indie, prog,
jazz and folk fans alike. In 2012 they introduced a newline-up, with
John Davidson on bass and Tom Sibly on drums.
The Conundrum In Deed sound has a 1970’s feel, incorporating the musicality of prog-rock with classic song structures and delicate melodies. There are eclectic influences from jazz, folk, psychedelic, and classical genres. The lyrics are poetic and surreal, journeying through the absurd and beautiful.
A few days ago, the band has released its second album "Travelling House".
The song "The Grass Is Always Greener" is from this album.
