This is the album on which Bob Dylan made his debut as a recording artist playing harmonica also established Carolyn Hester as one of the first and most significant stars on the Greenwich Village folk scene.
Earlier the same year she’d released another LP, also called Carolyn Hester, on the Clancy Brothers’ Tradition label, after which John Hammond signed her to Columbia after missing out on Joan Baez. Tracks include intense performances of Once I Had A Sweetheart, Galway Shawl and When Jesus Lived In Galilee.Carolyn Hester's (born January 28, 1937, Wako, Texas) first album "Scarlet Ribbons" was released in 1957.
