Given the accolades heaped on 2018’s Firepower (a Top 5 album in both the UK and the US) the expectations for its follow-up were pretty high, and Invincible Shield proves itself to be more than just a worthy successor. Released in the year that celebrates Priest’s debut Rocka Rolla's 50th birthday, their 19th studio album captures the dynamism of Firepower but tweaks the structure a little so that the material is no less heavy but is perhaps less predictable.
As you’d expect, Rob Halford’s voice and some glorious guitar work still take centre stage - check out Gates Of Hell and As God Is My Witness -while Devil In Disguise is the perfect example of a mid-paced neck-breaker.
