Patti Austin, from Harlem in New York, released her first single in
1956 when she was 7 or 8, and by the late '60s she was a prolific
session and commercial jingle singer.
However, she scored 20 R & B hits between 1969 - 1991.
She had a few minor solo Hot 100 entries between 1981-'86 , but her only major hit was her duet with James Ingram , "Baby, Come To Me", which reached no.1 in early 1983.
